Quickterm 6.8.2: Making Life Easier with and without AI

July 29, 2026

Translating with LLMs and Terminology

Quickterm is making great strides with harnessing the potential of large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence (AI). In the latest version, you will be able to use LLMs and TAG (terminology-augmented generation) to translate content informed by knowledge straight from your own termbase. Please note: The translation feature is already integrated into Quickterm, the Studio plug-in (both interactively and as a batch task), and Contentflow Task; however, it is still in the beta phase.

AI for Terminology Work

The AI model can now also suggest synonyms and correct terminology after the term check by inserting missing terms into the target language, for example. In addition, custom models (from OpenAI) can be integrated even without a model endpoint.

Prompt engineering has been simplified with a new centralized prompt management system and an improved prompt tester that provides easier access to termbase content and macros. Multiple prompts can also be linked to a single field so that you can experiment with alternative prompts.

Concept Maps

With concept maps proving to be particularly advantageous in an era of increasing AI usage, our developers have been hard at work on delivering new and improved features. These include a change history, a missing entry search, a full label list for abstract relationships, and new layout modes and labels for complex maps. What's more, all entries in a concept map can now be approved with a single click.

Notifications via Slack and Teams

In response to popular demand, notifications will be available via Slack and Microsoft Teams too. We provide the templates and users can configure the delivery settings themselves.

Configuration, Videos, and Other New Features

Several convenient new functions have been added to the stylesheet editor to save you valuable time. For example, changes to one stylesheet can now be applied to all other stylesheets as well.

We have also added to Quickterm's multimedia capabilities with a video player and audio player integrated into the entry view.

As well as the many new features, the Trados Studio plug-in is available as an "sdlplugin" so that it can be installed by any user even without administrator rights.

A context menu for terminology searches, term requests, and verification has been added to the browser plug-in, which can be accessed from any browser-based application. The browser term verification check now also supports HTML and has been expanded to cover 37 languages.

Our public cloud will be upgraded on Saturday, August 22. Please update your local clients as usual – a process that is now significantly easier thanks to the sdlplugin installer for version 6.8.2.
